In farsi, the word ostrich is composed of two words, camel and chicken. Actually, ostrich means a chicken with the size of a camel, but when we say the word, it does not evoke such a state, and its more like a combination of two animals, a camel and a chicken. It's as if a group of camels got tired of being camels and met a group of chickens that were tired of being chickens, and these two decided not to be the way always were, to go beyond their limits and become something new.
Like a man who wanted to be a fish and a bird and ended up with submarine and airplane. Today, man is both a fish and a bird. Because he never accepted his limitations and the existing situation.
Nothing was ever enough for humans, and this made it so that, unlike other animals, it did not repeat the same situation and make this repetition permanent. In fact, if we look carefully, 5 thousand years ago man had no idea of what we have become today. But imagination and non-acceptance of the current situation has brought us to today's world.
From this point of view, the ostrich looks like a human-like creature that, in an effort to destroy the routine and the constant repetition of the current situation, has transformed itself from a camel and a David, Marcus, Ptolemy and Margaret are stuck in a dead end, in a weird checkered corridor and they have to try to win in the end, and this is their whole idea of life. But the game never starts. Because basically there is no game. And this has caused them to get stuck and trample in an endless repetition of the things they have always done and they don't even know where they started doing them. In the meantime, David realizes that something is really wrong with them and the world they've made for themselves. Throughout the play, he tries in various ways to make others aware of this issue and finish the repetition.
But they are so dependent on their imaginary and self-made belief about themselves, life and the world around them that David's efforts do not leave a mark on them and their endless repetition. And in the end, they also return David to this vicious circle and endless repetition, and everything goes back to normal.chicken into something new.
