Synopsis

Present is a short film portraying a character at a crucial crossroads where the right choice must be made in the present moment. Each of his actions shapes his life, either leading to its ruin or allowing him to continue. Every decision he makes is informed by the previous moments’ choice, emphasizing the fleeting nature of time, which values the moments lost rather than those yet to come. Time, relentlessly and unyieldingly, stops for no one.

Director's Bio

Farhad Ghorbanpour, born on May 5, 1991, in Tehran, began his artistic journey in 2016 and has worked professionally since 2018 in the fields of screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing. He is a graduated in directing, screenwriting, and cinematography from the Young Filmmakers Association and completed his studies in editing at Tehran Technical Complex. Farhad has held roles as a director of photography and editor for numerous projects, with six short films in his resume until now. Present is his fourth short film.


Director's note

"Without time, nothing holds a meaning. Each person is constantly making decisions, and time marks the stamp of approval on each one. Making the right decision in the moment is challenging, often accompanied by mistakes. Time never stops for anyone but continually grounds us in the present."
