A review of "Redemption" short film by Mahsa Alinaghian

The short film Redemption short film directed by Kiaresh Pouyan is a surrealist film that portrays a part of a woman who suffers from creating a dreamlike atmosphere. This woman has a baby in her belly, and the gender of that baby has a direct effect on her moral characteristics. The woman's suffering in facing children who are not born, her relationship with the real world (voice of the neighbor), and her relationship with her husband that is not present in the world of the film are framed.

On the other hand, the images broadcasted on television depict the impact of the media and world events on a woman's life and dreams.

In the end, no child is born, but the woman is still pregnant.

Redemption movie contains elements of surreal style and this may confuse some audiences, but it is acceptable in terms of filming style and direction. The set and costume design are also fully at the service of the film and create its surreal world.
